If you rated the quality of your day today on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate it?  What would you rate yesterday at?  How about the day before?  Would you rate every day at the same rate or does it change day by day?

Now I know there are days when you could apply the adage of Murphy’s Law.  As stated, “what can go wrong will go wrong.”  Then there are those days when everything seems to go right!  How do you rate each of those days?  What if you could rate both of those types of days as a “10”?  What if you could rate every day a “10”?

That may seem a bit ridiculous but actually it can be a reality.  Would you start your day differently if you knew it was going to be a “10” no matter what happens on that day?  With that attitude in mind, you are heading in the right direction but there is more to it than just an attitude.

Now I must admit that I have been to the attitude school that says, “Attitude is everything.”  And even more, “Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to what happens to you.”  These are really great philosophies but there is still more to having a “10” day every day.

We have also had conversations about the importance of prayer and beginning every day with prayer.  With that mindset we are getting closer to the super ingredient to that “10” day.

That special ingredient?  With your whole heart and soul begin every day with this prayer, “All I do, I do for the glory of God.”  Repeating it a couple of times with all the vigor you can muster helps embed that in your spirit to keep it mindful the entire day in everything you do.  As your day progresses you will find that no matter what happens during the day you know the Lord is with you and you can get through anything especially because you offer it up to God.  St. Paul told the Corinthians, “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” (1 Cor 10:31)

Even in our mistakes we become more mindful of our Merciful God being there with us and blessing us in our efforts because He comes first.  (Matthew 5:16) “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven".

Envision a masterful pianist at play.  When they are playing a special musical piece and they are truly into it, their whole body is in motion, not just their hands.  When it is our mission that everything we do, we do for the glory of God, it causes us to be in a different spiritual disposition giving everything we have, our whole heart and soul for the good of others and the glory of God.

Focus on that mission.  Begin every day with, “All I do, I do for the glory of God” and Shine Like the Son.  He will shine on you, and through you.  God bless you.

Inspiring post. Often I let the busy world around me take my attention away from what should be first and foremost….giving glory to God.
